The second painting in the
series shows how the animals resign themselves to their fate. While the
animals of course are greatly disturbed by the lion’s aggression, they accept
their destiny and come up with a plan in which they make a pact with the
lion: whereby the animals will sacrifice themselves, one by one, so that the
lion will not attack them all at once. |
