This painting was the first I did after graduating from
college, and was inspired by a visit to a popular shrine in Lahore. As
always, I couldn’t resist the urge of personalizing it, so I depict myself as
one of the devotees outside the shrine. The other characters are either
imagined or are references to actual people that I saw at the shrine. |
