This painting is the
inspiration and culmination of several visits to the Isabella Gardner Museum
in Boston. It shows a bird’s eye view of the courtyard, a common perspective
used in miniature painting. In it, I view myself as Medusa, the main
protagonist of the courtyard, though my eyes are shut as I fear I may turn my
viewers into stone |
