This painting, titled ‘Heaven
and Hell’ is a continuation of the theme of inner anxieties that make up the
painting ‘Prickly Thoughts’. The premise of this painting being how we create
our own Heaven and Hell within our minds through the process of thought
making. The lower portion of the painting illustrates how our brain can
unleash a fury of negative, demonic thoughts to reduce our minds to a living
hell. But if like the figure in the painting, we manage to rise above these
thoughts, we can hope to transcend into that particular aspect of our psyche
where there is a peaceful void instead. |
